£3.9M Investment for Institute for Transport Studies
This Victorian building on University Road is receiving a £3.9M investment. The remodelling and refurbishment over the coming months will extend and modernise the learning environment, to create a first class learning environment to match the Institute’s standing as a world-leader in transport teaching and research.
The project paves the way for further collaborations – with colleagues across the University of Leeds, with industry and with international partners. The Institute’s pioneering inter-disciplinary approach is at the core of what they do, and a new-look building is a key enabler for future development.
Professor Greg Marsden, Institute Director says:
“A key driver for this project is to facilitate enhanced interactions between our various stakeholders – including our students, our staff, visiting researchers, other universities, industry partners, and research sponsors. Creating modern open spaces for these interactions is one aspect of our strategic plan to further develop the Institute as a hub for inter-disciplinary learning.”
