Last updated on 10 September 2019

The new £10.5M multi-storey car park opened in the New Year.

Designed by CJCT architects, the new car park boasts an impressive bespoke exterior of aluminium cladding panels and feature façade lighting for distinct aesthetic effect. The scheme also comprises surrounding landscaping, including native hedgerows, pollinating plants and a green wall.

Dennis Hopper, Director of Facilities Management at the University of Leeds said,

“The nine level car park improves the quality and safety of parking for our students, staff and visitors. It’s also part of a wider £520M University investment in a transformative campus developments programme, which will deliver the University’s ambition of creating a world class campus.”

Paul Dodsworth, Business Unit Director for Wates Construction North East & Yorkshire, said:

“Building work on the University of Leeds’ new multi-storey car park has progressed at rapid pace. This is in no small part thanks to the project team, which has tightly managed the smooth transition throughout our acquisition of the project from Shepherd Construction.

“As a result, we have successfully facilitated the University in its plans to increase the car parking provision in time for the new term, which we hope will appropriately provide sufficient capacity for the foreseeable future.”
