Phase 7 is the final phase of work to complete refurbishment of the School’s premises on University Road at an overall budget cost of £790k.

Work consisted of 620 square metres of internal improvements – mainly to research and staff facilities within the grade 2 listed annexe which was linked to the main building during Phase 5.  There was also refurbishment in rooms G21, G22, G44, G45, cluster room G46 and adjoining staircase.

Proposals in the Annexe were agreed by the architect with the Conservation Officer at Leeds City Council to satisfy both the listing and conservation area status of the building. Work started on site in September 2016 and the accommodation was handed back to the department in March.

Jacqueline Hunt, Business Manager at the School of Psychology said:

‘Phase 7 completes a significant £4M refurbishment of the Psychology building over several years, and provides the School with cutting-edge research facilities, dedicated student social space, high quality meeting rooms and flexible teaching space and attractive PGR and staff accommodation. The refurbishment work has dramatically improved the Psychology building for staff, students and visitors alike’.
