Civil Engineering and Energy Research building – April 2023

As part of a refurbishment project in the Energy Research, new power supplies are required to be connected to the main LV switch panel in the Energy Research building on 18 April at 5am – 8am. 

The main LV switch panel serves a number of supplies in the Energy Research building and also feeds the Civil Engineering Building. To allow the supplies to be safely connected power to these services shall be turned off at this time.

The works have been planned to be undertaken early in the morning to minimise disruption.

Services to be interrupted

Civil Engineering Building:

Loss of power, lighting, telecoms, etc. throughout the Civil Engineering building on all floors.

Energy Research Building: 

Loss of power to the following:

  • Goods Lift
  • Passenger Lift
  • Dyno 1
  • Dyno 2

Effects of this interruption upon building occupants
