Pedestrian Footpath Closure – Botany House Refurbishment

Where: Botany House

When: Monday 6th January – Friday 1st April

From 6/1/16 to the 1/4/16 the footpath running along the west side of Botany House will be closed.  This is to allow for a compound area to be situated on the footpath. The fenced off area will allow the contractor to place skips close to the building, use the area to store materials and then position a vehicle delivering and pumping concrete into the basement area.

The work is part of the £1.1m refurbishment of the Philosophy, Religion and History of Science & Arts building. The work will significantly improve the facilities in the building and create one location for students and staff to be based.

The map below shows the site and location of the footpath closure (download PDF).

For staff, students and visitors this will mean:

  • You will not be able to use this footpath
  • There are a number of alternative routes close by which can be used.  These have been highlighted on the attached map and are wheelchair accessible
  • There will be some vehicles accessing and leaving the site. They will however be restricted and will be on site either before 8am or after 5.30pm

Thank you for your cooperation and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
