Facilities Directorate power to desks and sockets

Power will be interrupted on the ground floor of the Facilities Directorate on Friday 10 November, which will impact all desk and floor sockets.

This should be a brief disruption between 6.30am – 7.30am, though staff are reminded to make sure all work is saved on your computers and shut down correctly on Thursday 9 November.

Lighting will not be effected and the building can be occupied.

Water supply in the Ziff Building

 

On Sunday 29 October from 6am-6pm water supplies cannot be used in the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Building. This is due to flushing of the system.

Water supplies cannot be used during this time due to flushing of the system. Technicians will be around the building running water supplies through all outlets.

Loss of water on Campus

On Saturday 21 October from 9am-11am there may be a loss of water across the south of campus. This is due to a water leak meaning Estates need to carry out an urgent repair to a valve in the middle of Garstang car park. This may require a switch off to the water for no more than 1 hour between the times above. Estates plumbers will be on site to support.

From Saturday 30 September to Sunday 1 October & Saturday 7 October to Sunday 8 October the link corridor from level 7 Garstang to level 7 Worsley Airport Lounge will be closed. This is due to flooring repair works/replacement.

Parking on Cavendish Road

From Tuesday 19 September to Friday 22 September no parking will be available and access restrictions will be in place on Cavendish Road due to the EV car charger being replaced and a new unit installed.

Entrance to EC stoner

From Thursday 7 September to Friday 15 September the below entrance door into Level 7 EC Stoner and flight of stairs down from that lobby to Level 6 and up to Level 8 will be closed for general use.

Access in an emergency is still permitted

This is due to work taking place on behalf of the Digital Education Service.

Power to the Rhodes Lecture Theatre

On Wednesday 13th September from 9am-10am  there will be no power or access available to the Rhodes Lecture Theatre for a maximum of 1 hour including minor data interruptions in the basement area of Electrical Engineering.

Loss of water supply on campus

On Saturday 16 September from 8am-10am a maintenance team are replacing the Mount Preston Street water meter, meaning a temporary loss of water supply on campus.

This work is being conducted by Morrison’s Utilities on behalf of Yorkshire Water. Isolation of this supply will affect all large buildings in the south of the main campus, this will also include the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Building, Social Sciences Building and Edward Boyle Library.
