Leeds is a well-connected city and easy to get around without using a car. Here are options available to you to travel more sustainably:
A limited number of spaces are available to University of Leeds staff members. A permit or day parking booking is required to park on campus during the ‘core hours’ (7am-5pm Monday-Friday).
Owing to a significant increase in demand, it has been necessary for the University to temporarily pause the issuing of new car parking permits. Colleagues applying for a permit will be placed on a waiting list and informed as soon as there’s availability.
Colleagues can continue to arrange day parking through the University’s permit system. Please see below for more details.
Free parking in the Orange Zone is available to staff on evenings and weekends. Please see the ‘staff out of hours parking’ section below for more details.
A limited number of day parking spaces are available to University staff members who do not often travel to work on campus, or hold a permit.
To access these spaces, day parking credits must be purchased and booked in advance using the University’s permit management system (PermIT).

The day parking credit packages currently available are:
University staff can apply for an Interim parking permit using the University’s permit management system (PermIT). Applications will be placed on a waiting list, and you will be notified when a permit is available. Unfortunately, we are unable to advise how long it will take for a permit to be awarded. Day parking options are also available, please see below.
Please note, Interim Permits are valid for use in the following zones:
Interim Permits are not valid for use in the Brown Zone or Green Zones.

Staff who hold a local authority Blue Badge and wish to park on campus are required to apply for a University Blue Badge Permit. This is free of charge and is available throughout the year. For more information please contact the Car Parking Team at carparking@leeds.ac.uk.

Please note, this facility is only available to staff of the University of Leeds. You must be logged into the University’s network to access this system, and therefore if you are connecting from home you will need to log into the network via the Virtual Windows Desktop.
Outside of the core parking hours of Monday – Friday 7am – 5pm, University of Leeds staff are permitted to park on campus free of charge in the Orange Zone car park. Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) is in operation in this car park and therefore vehicles must be registered in advance on the University’s permit management system (PermIT).
Please note, this facility is only available to staff of the University of Leeds. You must be logged into the University’s network to access this system, and therefore if you are connecting from home you will need to log into the network via Virtual Windows Desktop.
A limited number of spaces are available in the Orange Zone for visitors to the University. Visitor parking must be arranged in advance by a University staff member. Bookings should be made by the host department using the University’s permit management system (PermIT).
Visitor parking is charged at £7 per day. This can be paid for internally when booking or can be paid by the visitor on the day at a pay station.
