Brief
The Garstang Refurbishment project forms part of the University’s Discovery Science Masterplan and will deliver the refurbishment of Levels 5, 6 and 8.
Building on the success of the recently completed Cheney Biomedical Accelerator, this project continues the University’s strategic drive to create spaces that foster interdisciplinary research, attract world-class talent, and deliver real-world benefits.
Works include strip-out and asbestos removal to improve the building fabric and accelerate delivery, creating modern, flexible spaces that support collaboration and future growth.

Overbury and Associated Architects have been appointed by the University to undertake the work.
Work will begin in 2026 and is expected to complete in late 2027.
