Creating modern open spaces for these interactions will contribute to the Institute’s ambition to further develop as a hub for inter disciplinary learning.
This project will transform the navigation around the building creating new simple accommodation which fits comfortably within the existing terrace buildings. A new lift will also provide better internal access. The new building will be separated from the original with a glazed link which makes a clear distinction between old and new, whilst also creating an interesting circulation route with views over St Georges Field.
The energy efficiency and sustainability of the building will be much improved through new heating and lighting, improved thermal performance of the roof, windows and basement.
