Brief: A £5.0m investment in Bodington Playing Fields saw a refurbishment of the sports pavilion and the creation of a 1.6km tarmac closed road cycle circuit.
This is part of the University’s sports and physical activity strategy. £1m has been contributed to the project from British Cycling, British Triathlon, UK Sport and Sport England with the remainder from the University of Leeds.

The Brownlee Centre and Bodington Cycle Circuit were officially opened by the Brownlee brothers and are now open for use by our staff, students and members of the wider Leeds community. Read the full article.
Bodington Playing Fields will now host a vast amount of cycling activity including local club sessions, Pay and Pedal sessions, HSBC-UK Let’s Ride events and Ladies only Breeze Rides. It is also a British Cycling disability cycling hub and has a fleet of adult, children and adapted bikes for people to hire.
The site continues to be used for grass sports activity including football and rugby with the new refurbished changing rooms and social space in The Brownlee Centre providing a hugely improved experience for all users.
The Brownlee Centre is the new home to The Leeds Triathlon Centre, the new Elite Training Centre for British Triathlon, providing strength and conditioning, physiotherapy and support services to GB athletes based in Leeds.
