Multi-Storey Car Park
- Work begins: December 2014
- Work completed: January 2016
- Cost: £10.5M
- Contractors: Wates Construction Ltd
Brief: Work on the 690-space multi-storey car park, with ten levels, improved the quality and safety of parking facilities at the University.
The car park created capacity for on-site parking in the Campus Orange Zone and facilitates further development of the campus in line with the University’s Strategic Plan.
Although the car park has led to the removal of around 50 trees, the overriding aim is to have a net-positive impact on campus biodiversity. This will include replacing lost trees and improving other campus habitats. The building and surrounding landscaping will also include a green wall, native hedgerows and an increase in pollinating plants.
